Assistant United States Attorneys represent the federal government in criminal prosecutions and other legal proceedings. The role involves reviewing investigative material, preparing legal filings, advising federal law enforcement agencies, presenting cases before the courts and supporting the fair and effective administration of justice.
This interest form is intended to help the Department identify suitable prospective candidates for current or future vacancies. Submitting this form is not a formal application and does not guarantee an interview, appointment or offer of employment. Eligible candidates may be contacted when an appropriate opportunity becomes available.
Key Responsibilities
Review evidence and investigative reports submitted by federal agencies
Prepare criminal charges, motions and other court documents
Represent the United States in hearings, trials and related proceedings
Provide legal advice to investigators and departmental leadership
Manage assigned cases professionally, impartially and confidentially
Maintain high standards of conduct, integrity and legal judgement
Requirements
No current National Security Threat designation
Must have held American citizenship for at least 14 days
Roblox account must be at least 90 days old
Previous legal or law-enforcement experience is preferred
Must hold valid Bar Certification
Must not be blacklisted from any government department
No current affiliation with a criminal organisation
No arrests within the previous 21 days
